GBD Billiard - WWII Issue UPDATE
Well, gave it a polish and it came up a treat. working around the roundel is tricky, but it came out well. Can't wait to smoke it, maybe later tonight!
This looks better in real life than in the photo's. The stummel came up glassy smooth with only a quick touch on the wheel. After experimenting with a range of pipes I now know that this only happens if the briar is particularly old and hard. Softer briar takes on a 'rippled' effect very easily. Old hard briar like this just goes glassy, incredible pipe.
Nice GEEBEEDEE!
ReplyDeleteNice work Hoot lovely pipe and grain.
ReplyDeleteHoot, you're a magician with polishing media. That bit looks new.
ReplyDeleteBah, just wait till HD posts something he has hand-polished, then you'll see the real magician. :)
ReplyDeleteYour too kind Hoot but i have the time to spend on it.
