Carnuaba Wax Flakes (T1 Grade)

Well, I needed a supply of carnauba wax...and then this came along. 9.4kg of T1 (highest grade) pure carnauba wax. I'll melt it in the oven in some muffin trays to make pucks for use with the polishing mop. I know even a little bit of this stuff goes a very long way, so this should be the only time - for MANY years- that I'll need to purchase carnauba.

  3. Consider it done HD.

@Chuck plants do have a natural resonance that when disturbed causes fluctuations in their chemical balance. I guess that is a form of 'listening' so they do in a way have ears.

Back on topic...carnauba comes from a palm tree, had one in my yard in Brisbane.

Back on topic...carnauba comes in several grades (T1, T2, T4) that are distinguished by the purity level of the product. Filtration, centrifugation, and bleaching removes impurities and thus makes the different grades more/less expensive. You have to heat carnauba to around 85-86 centigrade before it melts.

  4. Carnuaba is good stuff. I bought two blocks a couple of years ago and still have most of it. I use it on my buffer for shining up my bowls and I also mix carnuba, beeswax and olive oil and use it as an intermediate protectant for the stems between buffings.
