  1. So Lee was a Peterson's man eh? Figures, he had all those system guns, he would smoke a system pipe!

As an aside, before the internet it was generally believed that the meer he smoked was antique and borrowed from a local collection/museum. Probably complete rot, but you never know :)

  2. There was an interview in which Van Cleef said that it was a Wellington that smoked in GBU. He said that if he dropped and broke a Welli it'd not hurt as bad as it would if he dropped and broke one of his Petes. The Wellies are system pipes too and they smoke very nicely.

  3. Very interesting. I see quite a few Wellington's coming up for sale on eBay, might look more closely now!

  4. I only have one left. An old one given to me by a forum pal. The ferrule on it is a bit rough but it smokes like a champ.

  6. Lee Van Cleef was not only an excellent actor but was also in the Navy during WWII and was awarded the bronze star.. He was a sonar operator. In a western., I just don't think you can get much better. There just aren't true bad asses like him anymore. Hell yeah.!
