Samuel Gawith Chocolate  Flake
I  had a can of this tobacco early this year it had a nice dark chocolate flavour to it.
The flakes were of uniform size and shape.
It was the first decent tobacco i smoked and i liked it .
I opened up this tin and saw a mess of flakes.
There are thick and thin flakes with tattered edges.
They need to sharpen there flake cutter.
It comes quite damp so needs drying the
flakes rubbed out very easy.
To me it tastes different .
Not as much of the coca taste i remember its there but just
i can taste a little Latakia.
The nicotine level is mid to strong so it suits me fine.
Overall a fair smoke but i won't buy again.

It smells like honey and hay.
Very fluffy cut fairly easy to pack and light.
There's not a lot going on here just the taste of Virginia tobacco
with a slight hint of honey at times.
The nicotine is mild to mid strength. .
Overall a ok smoke but i will not get it again. 

This weeks Tobacco Robert McConnell Folded Flake

Spicy Flake composed of Virginia, Fired Kentucky and Perique.

Out of the tin in a solid block.
Broke some bits off a rubbed it and loaded my bent Falcon with the Calabash bowl.
Perfect moisture out of the tin.
Andrea detects  hay and sultanas in the aroma.
Easy to light and keep burning.
There's not a lot to this tobacco just pure tobacco taste.
Nice and smooth easy on the tongue.
The nicotine is mid strength.
This will be perfect to add a little of the Black XX to give it
a boost up to the level of nicotine i like.

Packing flake tobacco

Cut the flake to suit the bowl depth.
Smoking in a small bowled pipe is best. 

Then I make a bundle. 

Loaded in to the pipe vertically 

Sprinkle any left overs on top to help get it going.

This is a Bantam sized Falcon bowl that i turned.
Just perfect for smoking flake this way.

Mac Baren - HH Old Dark Fired

This is a great smoke.
My tin is 11 months old dated Nov 2012
The moisture level upon opening was perfect
Full flavoured and mid to strong nicotine.
It has more kick than MB Navy flake which is a favorite of mine.
MacBaren flakes are high quality and consistently perfectly cut.
Good value for a 100 gram tin.
