Real or fake?
Basketwork hat and a bow-tie, what more could a man want? Is the meerschaum coloured through fake processes though? Or was it smoked to achieve this patina? Mouthpiece is made from amber and the pipe was made by Carl Hiess in Vienna, Wien, Austria.
Well Mr Postalot the colours look a bit too even Having said that i think it would look good in my overflowing display cabinet. theres always room for more pipes in there. I proved that last week fitting in 2 pipes that i will post about soon.
I agree re. fake. The way the colour ends abruptly at the hat band, and how the colour has worn off the lapels in particular are sus. I's say dipped or painted in dye or baccy juice before it was sold.
