Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. Rum Twist

1/2 pound 267 grams of
Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. Rum Twist
This is a twist made from the Straight Virginia as the Black and Brown Irish X. It has additional Rum flavoring added during manufacture. This is a very strong tobacco as it does not undergo the pressure cooking process.

I cut some coins with my flake cutter folded and stuffed
them in my Petersons Sterling silver no 15.
Rubbed out a coin and sprinkled some on top to get it going.
It was hard to light but once i had it going it kept going.
The rum flavour is there in the background.
Also has a very full tobacco flavour.
Full of nicotine but not quite the kick of Samuel Gawith - 1792 Flake / Cob Plug which is a good thing.
I tried chewing some first time for me.
Cut of a chunk about 1/2 inch long and popped it in.
This is where the rum taste shines and the tobacco tastes so strong.
I could only keep it in for about 10 minutes as it started getting too strong next time a smaller chunk.
The nicotine kick was a surprise to me.
I cant believe how well it worked.
Next time i'm on a plane or a hotel this will come in handy.

  1. I love G&H rum twist. It, along with brown bogey and dark twist are some of my favorite smokes. Love the stuff in a briar with a wide open draw. Good, good, goooooood stuffah!

  2. Been using one of my hunting knives with a 6" blade and a board to slice my baccy lately. Working a treat so far. I have found that there is a problem with these baccys. The more I some them the more I want to smoke them and the shorter the twist gets. ;^()
